Carpet Underlay - Foam

Lightweight foam underlays are designed to raise the bar when it comes to performance and have quickly grown to become the product of choice. Every polyurethane (PU) foam underlay also helps to reduce waste by being made with recycled post-industrial material and, where local facilities exist, can even be fully recyclable at the end of their long service life.

Each PU foam underlay is differentiated by its performance characteristics, so the thicker the underlay, the better the comfort. Meanwhile, the greater the density, the more consistently your underlay will perform over time.

Floorwise describes this correlation between thickness and density as ‘bouncebackability’, which helps explain how underlays will perform and defines which products are better suited to specific environments. Thinner, higher-density products are best suited to high-traffic areas, such as hallways, stairs, and landings, while in areas like bedrooms, a thicker product provides a more luxurious feeling underfoot.
